New page

Other species that become Vendicsal are generally manumitted thralls or professional retainers. Whilst the export of slaves kidnapped on raids is seen as a profitable trade, it is generally regarded as shameful to have a large coterie of slaves. Instead, the concept of having thralls, whom one supports with land or influence, is much preferred and generally practiced. A former thrall is generally provided a life path by their patron. There are no manumitted thralls as ‘Smiths’, though some are chosen to become assistants and agents of the Smiths if they have a Smith patron and show sufficient cunning.
